Our Aims

OUR BUSINESS PRINCIPLES

The following Business Principles were developed by the team in 2007

Principle 1

To work hard to provide Quality care and service, tailoring this to individual patient needs whilst establishing and maintaining their trust and confidence.

Principle 2

To maximise profit to sustain growth for the long term development and competitive strength of the practice.

Principle 3

To eliminate waste – of time and resources

Principle 4

To recruit, retain, and develop our team through excellent management and encourage pride, happiness and fun in the workplace

Principle 5

To behave ethically by being professional, honest and fair. To act with integrity at all times in building close, secure and lasting relationships within the team, with our patients and with the local community

Principle 6

To be socially responsible practice though awareness of the environment and through charitable giving.

As well as these principles, Chipping Manor is working hard:

TO SERVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Chipping Manor is located at the heart of Wotton-Under-Edge, and as such is here to both work alongside and serve the local community. We are members of the Wotton Chamber of Trade, and regularly support local events. Members of our team visit local schools, playgroups, careers evenings, brownie packs etc to give oral hygiene advice. We recently installed an automatic defibrillator at the practice, and all team members have been trained in its use.

TO WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR PATIENTS
Oral health makes a significant contribution to general health. We want you to smile with confidence and the team hope that by working together using the latest techniques and materials, we will enable you to keep your teeth for life.

We have recently moved to our new premises, and are now able to offer access to all – including wheelchair users. We have also installed a loop system. Home visits or referrals to specialists may be appropriate – please ask for details.

CHIPPING MANOR CHILDREN’S DAYS
Every 9 months we hold a day at the practice for children only. There are quizzes, games, treasure hunts as well as a chance to meet their dentist in an informal setting, and spend time with our oral Health educators. The next one is February 21st February 2008

TO WORK TO A PROFESSIONALLY HIGH STANDARD
We believe in working to a professionally high standard both in terms of practice management and clinical standards. We work to a team-driven clinical governance and health and safety policy and have met the standards of both Denplan and the BDA good practice scheme. Our Practice Manager is both a business graduate, and member of the British Practice Managers Association.

TO VALUE AND DEVELOPE OUR TEAM
Our team are the key to our success. As such, we meet regularly both all together and on a one to one basis. There are training opportunities for all, and all of our nurses are either qualified or working towards qualification. In the past year, two of our nurses have gained further qualifications. Wendy gained her dental radiography qualification, and Hannah her Oral Health Educators qualification.
